7 Civilizations That Mysteriously Disappeared!

#4. “The Nabateans”-- The city of Petra located in what is now the country of Jordan is one of the most breathtaking architectural wonders of the ancient world and was home to an extraordinary ancient civilization known as The Nabateans. The Nabateans arrived in Jordan around 700 BC and would prosper as one of the elite trading nations until the first century AD. Then in the fourth century the Nabateans would suddenly pick up and abandon Petra. The city was carved into the mountains around it and for most of its existence was an impenetrable fortress. Because of this, as it being at the perfect strategic location to control trading in the Middle East and Arabian peninsula Nabatea became a cultural melting pot with the Nabateans becoming experts in irrigation, medicine and the arts. They were even known for adopting much of the Hellenistic cultures of Rome and Greece into their native Arabic traditions. The Nabateans lived alongside the great empires of Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar and had a working relationship with the Romans until they sided against them during the period of turmoil that resulted from Caesar’s assassination. The Romans would eventually conquer most of their territory yet they still called Petra home for a few hundred years. Then one day the Nabateans decided it was time to leave their capital, so they packed up everything and left. Most of their people probably assimilated into other cultures and empires and though its not known exactly why they decided to leave their beautiful city--it is most likely that because of technological advancements in seafaring it lost much of the value it once had as an international marketplace.

#3. “The Mycenaeans”--For two hundred years the Mycenaeans ruled Greece, but in flash they were gone. The Mycenaeans lived from approximately 1600 to 1100 BC becoming the first civilization to comprise of several Greek states working together. This alliance and cultural movement would end up in the founding of historic cities. Mycenaean Greece was made up of the areas of what would come to be home to Athens, Sparta, Crete and Thebes and at its height extended its rule to boundaries close to that of modern Greece. The Mycenaeans were heavily influenced by the aforementioned Minoan civilization, improving and expanding upon their artwork, architecture and religious traditions. Much of Mycenaean culture can be considered a direct precursor to that of Ancient and Classical Greece and it is from them that most of the mythology of Greece would spring. If the myths and legends are true, Mycenaean Greece can claim some of the world’s most renowned heroes like Odysseus, Achilles and Theseus. Perseus himself, the half-god who vanquished Medusa, is said to be the founder of Mycenae. But Perseus’ kingdom wouldn’t last long as just as fast as it expanded it was snuffed out. Many historians claim that its early exit around 1200 BC was due to “flying too close to the sun” as many texts claim the Mycenaeans had tried and failed to expand their empire beyond Greece, costing them manpower and resources. The time around 1200 BC was an extremely wild time as many civilizations in the Middle East and Mediterranean that were advanced for this point in history began fighting amongst themselves, causing many to collapse and have to rebuild. The histories that the poet Homer wrote suggest the Mycenaeans tried to takeover Egypt but failed. There are also theories that suggest civil war and invasions by outsiders could be the reason that Mycenae is no more.

9 Most MYSTERIOUS Islands On Earth!

#9. “Island of Socotra”- Off the coast of Somalia in the Indian ocean is an island that seems as though it belongs on another planet. Socotra Island has long been theorized as a location for the biblical Garden of Eden, and just by looking at pictures of it you can see why. The island is home to several species of plants that are can’t be found anywhere else on Earth. There are the Dr. Seuss looking Adenium socotranum which have big bulbous trunks and tiny gnarly branches that sprout from their tops and bear flowers that are a marvelous shade of pink. There odd appearance makes them kind of look like giant root vegetables. Then there are the Dragon’s Blood Trees which look like perfect natural umbrellas. The have trunks that resemble that of an average tree but their thick tightly bunched branches shoot upwards and form a mushroom like crown. Socotra is also home to three geographically unique species of bird: the socotra sunbird, socotra grosbeak and socotra starling. There aren’t many other creatures that inhabit the island other than that of bats and insects and the last time it was home to man was around the year 100 A.D. Adding to the mystery, the island has been the site of dozens of shipwrecks over the years.

#8. “Palmyra Atoll”- Though technically not an island but an atoll that formed from coral the mysterious nature of Palmyra Atoll cannot be ignored. Also known as Palmyra Island, the breathtakingly beautiful ringlet sits between American Samoa and Hawaii. Though it is full of lush vegetation and appears unblemished by man the island has long be the subject of superstition and folktales. There have been several cases of violent shipwrecks and mysterious disappearances of ships on and around the island. Those who have observed the island and survived to tell their tale have claimed having seen some extremely bizarre sights like that of floating lights, ghosts and sea monsters. It is also reported to be the home of an incredible amount of sharks who may have developed a distinct taste for humans. There is also the story of lost Incan treasure that may still be on the island. These tales and others which cannot be discussed do to their graphic nature have made Palmyra the stuff of legend amongst sailors and Pacific Islanders for centuries.

#7. “Vulcan Island”- Vulcan Island in the Philippines isn’t necessarily an island that is shrouded in mystery but it definitely is a mindblowing locale. On the northern Philippine island of Luzon there sits a lake named Taal and in that lake there is an island called Taal Volcano, inside this island is the world’s largest crater lake and inside of this lake there sits yet another island, known as Vulcan Island. Not only is Vulcan Island one of the most fascinating of natural recursion it happens to be located on one of the most active volcanoes in the entire Pacific Ocean. Because of this fact it is incredibly dangerous to visit Vulcan Island as it has been quaking and bubbling consistently since 1991.

ANCIENT Technology We Still CANT Replicate Today!

10. Damascus Steel
Damascus steel refers to two different types of iron-based materials that can be identified by the watery pattern on the surface that is produced by the controlled manipulation of the iron and steel. It originated in India and the Middle East, and was first known to the Europeans in the 3rd century through trading with Damascus. What was noticeable about this method of making steel, and therefore blades for swords, was that it was much stronger and more flexible than traditional iron. Those who wielded a Damascus steel sword were much feared, because it was quite a mighty weapon.
While, today, there are production processes that make steel far stronger than Damascus steel, it was still ahead of its time and practically impossible to replicate today. It was made by adding precise amounts of other compounds into the steel as it was being hammered, and these became part of the molecular structure of the substance. It was a perfected technique, and one that is simply impossible to reproduce without the know-how of those who invented it in the first place.

9. Ferlite Watch
In 1912 a discovery was made in a London cellar that would become known as the Cheapside Hoard. It’s the largest collection ever found of Elizabethan and Jacobean Jewellery! Full of gemstones, necklaces, rings, and cameos, everything deserves to be admired.
The gemstones come from all over the world and it shows technical skills and cutting styles that jewelers today still don’t know how to replicate since they were passed down from generation to generation.
One item in particular really stands out- the Ferlite watch, named after the jeweler who created it. It’s so meticulously crafted that it had a calendar, an alarm, and scrolling decoration. Forensic analysis of the watch has shown that incredibly advanced technologies were used to create all of the components. Experts are calling it the “ipod of its day”!
Some of the tech includes the ability to apply extremely thin films of metal to objects, with more precision than we can do today with solar cells and electronic devices. Researchers from Birmingham City University scanned the watch in detail and recreated the pieces using a 3D printer. Even though we now have the pieces, the race is now on to try and learn how it was actually made, because it could improve manufacturing processes and reduce the amount of raw materials needed to produce electronic equipment, and also help to preserve artefacts that have worn away over time.
Thanks to 3-D printing, the Museum of London now offers visitors the chance to handle this 16th century gadget! (The copy, clearly not the original!)

8. Roman Concrete
The Romans built a lot- whether it was roads, statues, or grand buildings- but perhaps the most impressive thing about the structures that they made is the fact that the concrete still holds together today, more than 1,500 years after it was mixed. This is far longer than modern versions of concrete last, and no one’s entirely sure how they were able to do this! What was the secret recipe??
Many attempts have been made to try and determine the ingredients that they used. It seems to be a combination of volcanic ash, calcium oxide, seawater, and lumps of volcanic rock, as well as leftover rubble. It was even used to build gigantic structures like piers and harbours, and actually became stronger over time. This is the key to the success of the concrete. Scientists believe that there are rare elements within it that crystallize when water seeps in and begins to erode cracks, making it tougher. By contrast, today’s concrete is designed to stay unchanged after it hardens, but the Romans have shown that there is a better way.
Further research is needed to understand exactly why it works in the way it does, but if the precise list of ingredients can be determined, it could change the face of construction forever. Buildings could be more resistant and more beautiful!

This Is Why We Haven't Found Aliens Yet!!

With such a large universe, there are many high probability estimates that there are other extraterrestrial civilizations out there. But if there is so much life out in space, where is everybody? Here are 10 reasons why we haven’t found aliens yet.

10. We Haven’t Been Looking Long Enough
The hunt for alien life was summed up in the 1950’s by physicist Enrico Fermi, one of the designers of the atomic bomb, when he proposed what is known as the Fermi Paradox. It states that there are billions of stars in the Universe similar to our sun.

9. We Already Have but Didn’t Notice
It’s quite possible that we have already found alien life, but we’re either too distracted to have seen it, or simply don’t realize that it’s there. The only life that we know exists for sure is that which is found on our own planet, so the signs that are being looked for are based on what we’ve learned from ourselves.

8. They Live Under Distant Oceans
Keeping on the theme of alien life being very different to ours on earth, it’s very possible that there’s a huge amount of life out there in the universe, but that a lot of it exists deep beneath oceans… which would make it very difficult to detect.

7. Alien Life Hasn’t Developed Yet
Fermi’s formula for discovering life might have made a false assumption that could explain why we haven’t discovered alien life yet. It’s not that alien life hasn’t, or won’t, develop… it’s just that it might not have done so yet.

6. The Dark Forest Theory
There’s a more worrying theory about why we haven’t discovered alien life yet, and it’s called the Dark Forest theory. Some equations suggest that there should be as many as 20 civilizations living in our galactic neighborhood, but rather than reaching out to us, maybe they are purposefully keeping quiet.

5. They Live on Super-Earths
Humans have developed the technology to send vehicles beyond the orbit of our own planet, and that's a major factor in our ability to look toward distant worlds and search for life out there. But what if this development had proved too difficult to achieve? It might mean, instead, that we would be limited to exploring our own planet, and have to give up on our ideas of exploring the universe.

4. There Isn’t Any
It's not such a popular explanation with those who look at the size of the universe and the seeming unlikeliness that our planet is the only one to have developed life, but it's still possible that there simply is no alien life to discover.

3. We’re Looking in the Wrong Place for the Wrong Thing
Our search for life elsewhere in the universe is based on one major assumption- that this life is organic. Some futurists think that this is a big mistake, though, and that we should be looking for signs of robotic life.

2. Dark Energy is Pulling us Further Apart
One of the biggest mysteries of the universe is dark energy- the unknown force that is causing everything to expand. This is causing distant stars to seem dimmer to us, and scientists think that in a few trillion years, the only light that will be visible from earth will be the very closest galaxies.

1. They Have Already Died
This theory is one that has gained a lot of traction recently and is the idea that alien life was once abundant, but has already died. This could be because of natural events or, as many believe because they have caused their own extinction.

Most INCREDIBLE Coin Discoveries Around The World!

9. The Wesley Carrington Hoard
In June 2013, a British man named Wesley Carrington made one of the most spectacular discoveries of the century. After buying a metal detector as a hobby, he used it in the woods near St. Albans, Hertfordshire. Initially, he did pretty well, he found a spoon and a halfpenny. And then he discovered a gold coin.
As the metal detector continued to beep even after finding the coin, he began to dig. Soon, he unearthed 55 more gold Roman coins. He took the coins to a local museum who inspected the coins and told him they dated back 1,600 years. The coins - minted in Italy as well as in other parts of Europe - were in use during the Empire of six Roman Emperors from Honorius to Gratian.
Carrington later admitted he used tricks he learned on YouTube to make the find but didn’t really know how to use his metal detector. He said it was the cheapest detector he could find so there is plenty of hope for everyone out there who wants a cool hobby! I bet there were plenty of other people who have super expensive metal detectors and have never found anything, They are probably hating Carrington right now. The coins are estimated to be worth over £100,000 ($128,000). Plans were made to auction the coins but no information could be found as to how much money Carrington received for his find.
8. Roman Coins in Japan
In 2013, a discovery was made that still baffles archaeologists. Katsuren Castle in Okinawa Island, Japan, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was built around the 12th century. During a dig, archaeologists discovered four copper coins that, at first, they took for a hoax.
One of the coins bears the image of the Roman Emperor Constantine I and has since been dated to 300 to 400 AD. Another shows a helmeted soldier wielding a shield in one hand and stabbing an enemy with a spear in the other. Since that initial find, excavation has yielded another six coins, which may date back to the Ottoman Empire in the late 17th century.
The find baffles archaeologists because of the lack of direct links to Europe. History tells us that the castle had commercial relationships with China and other Asian countries, so it’s possible the ancient Roman coins found their way to Katsuren through that route although it would be pretty surprising!
7. The Seaton Down Hoard
In 2014, an amateur metal detectorist unearthed one of the largest hoards of Roman coins ever found in Britain. Laurence Egerton discovered 22,000 copper-alloy coins in Seaton, East Devon, near a field where a Roman villa had been excavated. Egerton took up metal detecting seven years prior to his find and the best he ever found were some old shotgun cartridges.
At first, he only found two small coins on top of the ground. His metal detector indicated iron but Egerton said his instincts told him there might be something more. After digging, he came upon two iron ingots but the shovel full underneath them didn’t contain dirt but coins.
Now called the Seaton Down Hoard, experts believe a soldier or private individual buried them for safekeeping. For whatever reason, they never returned to collect the coins. The coins would have made up a few month’s wages for a soldier. Today, though, they are worth tens of thousands of dollars. Egerton was so concerned about theft that for three days, after archaeologists went home for the night, he camped out in his car to protect the dig site.
The Roman coins date back to 4th century and contain the representation of Emperor Constantine, the members of his family, his predecessors, and successors.
6. Swiss Cherry Orchard Find
In 2015, a stash of more than 4,000 bronze and silver coins is believed to have been buried some 1,700 years ago in what is today a cherry orchard in Aargau, Switzerland. Weighing around 15kg (33lb), the local farmer discovered the coins after spotting something shiny in a molehill.
Since a Roman settlement was discovered in the nearby town of Frick, just a few months before, the farmer suspected the coins might be of Roman origin and contacted the regional archaeological service. After months of excavation, 4,166 coins were found in excellent condition. The regional archaeological service called the coin trove one of the biggest such finds in Swiss history.

Inner Earth Civilizations Exist and I Can Prove It: Agartha & Hollow Earth

The word “Agartha” is of Buddhist origin. True Buddhists fervently believe in this subterranean empire, which they say has millions of inhabitants and many cities, including the capital Shamballah, where a Supreme Ruler dwells. They believe the Dalai Lama is his terrestrial representative, and his messages are transmitted to the lamas for thousands of years, These terrestrial inhabitants have lived here, sheltering humanity after terrestrial cataclysms.. The Russian artist, philosopher, and explorer, Nicolas Roerich, published that a Tibetan lama revealed the capital of Tibet was connected by a tunnel with Shamballah, the heart of the Subterranean empire of Aghartha.  And that the entrance of this tunnel was guarded by lamas who were sworn to keep its actual whereabouts a secret from outsiders those who are led through this underground passage travel deep into the earth through areas where it becomes so narrow, it can be difficult to pass through.

Pyramids True Purpose FINALLY DISCOVERED: Advanced Ancient Technology

Mainstream historians will tell you that the Great Pyramid of Giza was a glorified tomb for the Egyptian pharaohs. The only original monument left of the original Seven Wonders of the World, this structure was created with impeccable mathematical precision, and is a unique, mysterious feat of construction and engineering.

There’s only one problem: the Great Pyramid has none of the characteristics of tombs: including extravagant artifacts, ornate wall art, sealed entrances, elaborate coffins, or even mummies themselves. It was, however, built with unique – the same materials that are used for electrical conductivity today. These facts are leading more and more historians to believe the pyramids may have had a far more useful purpose. ..that pyramid of Giza was not at all a tomb, but a power plant: generating and transmitting electricity to the civilization surrounding them. Sound impossible?
